Description

The typical strategy for dealing with default reverse DNS entries in IPv4 is to pre-populate the zone file with the default entries, since a zone file for a /24 will have at most 256 entries.

A completely populated reverse zone file for an IPv6 /64 or /48 would be huge and a pointless. A different strategy is needed if default reverse DNS entries are desired in IPv6.

It is possible with PowerDNS to dynamically generate a response to a query.

a.authns.bitfolk.com is currently BIND, so would need to be changed to PowerDNS before this could be done. Since PowerDNS can parse BIND format zone files this need not be too painful.
