Description

Is there any interest in a backup service which would store customer data on the backup space provided by BitFolk but in such a way that only the customer can access it?

This is covered in the privacy policy but in case you aren't aware, root on BitFolk backup servers can access customer data stored there.

I'm assuming we basically get the choice of whether you invoke rsync or duplicity to run the backup.

I haven't really given any thought to how this would be implemented, given the apparent lack of interest.

Is there any value to the backups service at all given the existence of things like dropbox and spideroak?

Tahoe-LAFS is another interesting technology.

What I really like about the bitfolk backups is that I can not mount them read-write. That for me is something which has become a really good to have (almost a must have) feature.
